As CEO of Earlux, Mark is responsible for shaping the company’s vision, culture, and pathways to growth. Along with his co-founder, Dr. Cory Cook, Mark has led the development of an expanded mission for Earlux, and a more innovative business framework. This has included growing the company’s leadership in technology innovation, including the Earlux virtual clinic and the embrace of a broader range of top quality hearing health products.
Prior to co-founding Earlux, Mark served as a corporate manager for AccuQuest Hearing Centers, where he successfully supported the practice expansion to over 175 clinics. He then earned an MBA from BYU’s Marriott School of Business, where he led the university’s renowned business launch competition.
Following graduation, Mark served as a company director at Jamberry, an explosive-growth direct selling company. In this position, he encountered the challenges and extraordinary growth potential of word-of-mouth marketing, an experience he is now bringing to Earlux. To further build his startup expertise, Mark joined the investment firm Fifth Partners as a portfolio business operator, where he helped launch and scale Pop Zero, a successful ready-to-eat popcorn brand. He also helped implement Fifth Partners’ due diligence process for prospective investments, which expanded his overall business expertise.
A native of Utah and outdoor enthusiast, Mark is married to Camilla and they have four children.
Dr. Cory Cook is responsible for the audiology services provided to Earlux customers, which includes recruiting and training the company’s hearing health specialists. He researches and selects all the products and technologies that the company offers. He also helped pioneer and develop Cortex-5, Earlux’s leading-edge technology for hearing aid fitting.
Cory has been one of the industry leaders in applying the telemedicine model to hearing healthcare. Along with a colleague, he designed the Earlux virtual clinic to ensure that patients experience personal, attentive care and the easiest possible journey to better hearing. He has also focused on expanding the company’s services beyond the traditional line-up of hearing aids, to provide customers with hearing protection, training, and education.
Cory obtained his doctor of audiology degree from the University of Utah and on graduation joined the Utah Ear Institute, a successful practice in Bountiful, UT. Before becoming an audiologist, Cory successfully managed a team of door-to-door direct sellers for the home security company Vivint. He credits this five-year-long experience with building his abilities in sales, communication, and leadership — valuable skills that today complement his audiological expertise.
Cory is married to Kaitlin and they have two children. He loves golf, skiing, and hiking.
